At Hoar, we believe in Building People First.
Our company is only as strong as we build our people up to be, so our focus is on building our people first, to be the best versions of themselves. With a wide variety of ongoing learning and development opportunities, we are always in process. Beyond continuously learning and improving how we build for our clients, part of our process is building up the next generation of builders – not only teaching them to do a great job, but building them as people. We’re building impact, building relationships, building careers, building futures. We’re Building People First.
Building People First means we want to give people an incredible career and to give them the reason to stay here and to continue to build something special with this company and the team around us.

From annual BBQs and crawfish boils to team outings at professional sporting and networking events to lunches and games with our Employee Resource groups, we’re building our community together.
We celebrate our wins and successes as a team.
Beyond building community spaces for entertainment, relaxation, working, living, and staying healthy, we’re invested in building stronger communities overall. We want to be an integral part of the communities where we build and serve community organizations both on individual and corporate levels. Whether you’re interested in volunteering for organizations like Habitat for Humanity or donating time and resources to community groups you’re passionate about, we believe helping you give back makes us all better. With that in mind, we established the Hoar Foundation, an employee-run charitable foundation, whose mission is to support those charities that support our core values. This platform offers the opportunity to have a greater impact on communities we serve and gives employees the chance to run a 501(c)(3).
We established the Hoar Foundation to support charities in our communities.
Guided by our core values, we lead with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to excellence. We’re dedicated to building trust, empowering our people, and shaping a sustainable future for our clients, communities, and company. All of this contributes to why we've been voted as a great place to work since 2006.
Hoar Construction is a great place to work.

How do I find out my application status?
We understand that waiting to hear back can be difficult, and we truly appreciate your patience. The application review process can take time, as we carefully consider each candidate to ensure the best fit for both the role and our organization.
If the position is still listed on our careers page, it means we are still actively reviewing applications and progressing through our hiring process. If the posting is no longer visible, the position has most likely been filled.
We’ll be in touch with candidates as decisions are made, and we appreciate your time and interest.
What is onboarding like?
From day one on the job, you’re assigned an onboarding champion. This person is different from a traditional career mentor in that they’re there to help you figure out the ins-and-outs of your office, job site, and more. From making sure you know how to contact IT, what your typical workday looks like, to where to get coffee, we want you to feel supported in any way you need. Additionally, we host regular New Hire Orientations in our Birmingham office where you’ll come to meet and hear from company executives, support departments, and operations and get your official headshot, all while bonding with your fellow new hires.
What if you don’t have a job opening for my position or location?
We post new job openings all the time. Keep an eye on our Job Openings page for new opportunities in your area.

“I think that it's a great thing, because when we do yearly reviews, you put in your thoughts of what you want to do the next year and the next five years. You get to set a game plan for what you want to do in the industry.”

“I think a lot of companies put people in boxes and you stay in that box. I tell everyone that at Hoar you create your own path. If you want your path to go a different way, it's a simple conversation with your manager, and then you go down that path together.”
